Day Tours - Atlantic Seaboard, Cape Town
The Atlantic Seaboard of Cape Town comprises well known suburbs Green Point, Sea Point, Mouille Point, Cliffton, Camps Bay and Hout Bay. For a quick tour of the Atlantic Seaboard, follow the M6 - a scenic coastal drive between Granger Bay and Hout Bay that traverses the cosmopolitan suburbs of Green Point, Sea Point, Clifton, Camps Bay, and Hout Bay.
Sea Point is one of Cape Town's most wealthiest and densely populated suburbs, situated between Signal Hill and the Atlantic Ocean. Moving from Sea Point to the Cape Town's Central Business District a few minutes, one passes through Three Anchor Bay and Green Point. Mouille Point is next to Green Point, and is where the local lighthouse is situated.
Mouille Point hugs the ocean between Granger Bay and Three Anchor Bay close to the V&A Waterfront. The Mouille Point lighthouse, or Green Point Lighthouse as it is officially known, is a popular landmark. The area has a number of hotels, lodges and bed and breakfast establishments. It is the starting point of the seaside promenade which goes all the way to Sea Point. The promenade is popular with walkers who enjoy a leisurely leg stretch and with more energetic joggers. Walking the Promenade is a popular family activity.
Camps Bay is Cape Town’s most fashionable location and her own Gold Coast, the suburbs of the Atlantic Seaboard, include some of the most expensive real estate in Africa.
It’s a lively, trendy part of the city where the beauty of the surroundings is matched only by the beauty of the people. It’s an ideal holiday desti-nation with astonishingly white and sandy beaches edging the soaring.
The historic and picturesque town of Hout Bay has always been a popular holiday destination - even when the round-trip excursion from Cape Town and back (including luncheon at the Beach Hotel) took an entire day. Here below the Karbonkelberg, with the Sentinel Peak and the famous bronze leopard standing guard over the Bay, lies a seaside village that's alive with the sounds and smells of the forests and the sea.
